Preservation Massachusetts is seeking nominations for its annual Most Endangered Historic Resources List.
The statewide nonprofit, which promotes the preservation of historic buildings and landscapes, will accept nominations until Friday, Aug. 15.
Established in 1993, the list is a way to generate publicity about the potential loss of significant buildings and resources statewide. Since the first listing, 82 of the nearly 200 resources have been saved and restored while 24 have been lost.Among the properties supported by Preservation Massachusetts’ advocacy are Worcester’s Union Station; the Alvah Kittredge House in Roxbury; Wenham Town Hall; and the Caesar Robbins House in Concord.
Criteria for selection includes historical significance, threat of loss, community commitment, geographic distribution and variety. The nonprofit does not provide cash or grants for historic renovation.
