Danielle Lauzon, Partner, Goodwin Procter
Danielle Lauzon is a partner in Goodwin Procter’s Technology Companies & Life Sciences Group. From 2007 through 2012, Ms. Lauzon was recognized as Massachusetts Super Lawyer “Rising Star” for her work representing private and public companies on general corporate and securities law and mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Lauzon also represents issuers in connection with the public offering and private placement of equity securities, and has represented companies as well as venture capital and private equity firms in numerous venture capital financings and recapitalizations. She currently serves on the hiring committee for Goodwin Procter’s Boston office.
Ms. Lauzon’s representation of start-up and later stage companies spans the entire corporate life cycle, including formation matters, general corporate representation and counseling, venture capital financings, public offerings and mergers and acquisitions. Her clients are in the life sciences, software and information technology services industries. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Women Entrepreneurs in Science and Technologies (WEST). She is also a member of the Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations.
Ms. Lauzon has been recognized by The Legal 500 U.S. for her work in the life science industry, and from 2007 through 2012, she was recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer “Rising Star” by Law & Politics and Boston magazine. In law school, Ms. Lauzon was a member of the Villanova Law Review.
She received a B.A. from the University of Michigan a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law, 2000.
Robert Hale, Chair, Labor & Employment Practice, Goodwin Procter
Rob Hale, a partner in and chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice, represents employers across a broad spectrum of employment matters. Mr. Hale’s practice involves representation of clients in employment litigation, including noncompetition, discrimination, wrongful discharge, FLSA and ERISA litigation. He has obtained successful results for employers at all stages of litigation, including in preliminary injunction proceedings, at summary judgment, at trial and on appeal. Mr. Hale is experienced in successfully representing employers before administrative agencies and in labor arbitrations. His practice also includes counseling in numerous areas of labor and employment law, including disability discrimination, sexual harassment and other discrimination matters; noncompetition agreement and other restrictive covenants; downsizing; employment agreements; wage and hour compliance; collective bargaining; and personnel policy development and administration. In addition, Mr. Hale is experienced in providing training for managers, supervisors and human resources professionals.
He is a former employer co-chair of the Federal Labor Standards Legislation Committee of the American Bar Association. He is a former chair of the ABA’s subcommittee on the Family and Medical Leave Act, the ABA’s subcommittee on the WARN Act and the Boston Bar Association’s Employee Benefits/ERISA Committee. He is also a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA).
Mr. Hale has spoken at a number of seminars, including those presented by the American, Boston and Massachusetts Bar Associations and various professional and trade groups. He is also co-editor-in-chief of the comprehensive and leading treatise entitled The Family and Medical Leave Act, and was a chapter editor of the first edition of The Fair Labor Standards Act – both published jointly by the American Bar Association and the Bureau of National Affairs. Mr. Hale was elected as a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. He has also been repeatedly selected for inclusion in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, The Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers magazine.

Robert Crawford, Jr., Partner, Goodwin Procter
Robert Crawford is a partner in the firm’s Technology Companies & Life Sciences Group and is a leader in the firm’s generic pharmaceutical transactions practice. Mr. Crawford represents technology, pharmaceutical and other life science companies in connection with their commercial, M&A and intellectual property transactions, including complex strategic collaboration, co-development, licensing and partnering transactions. He also has extensive experience structuring and negotiating brand and generic settlement and license agreements related to ANDA litigation and other Hatch-Waxman patent disputes.
Mr. Crawford is a member of the Boston Bar Association, Boston College Law School Intellectual Property Inn of Court and the American Bar Association. He also provides extensive pro bono services to a variety of clients as a member of the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts in Boston and Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association. In addition, he has served as a mentor to Boston area middle school students as part of the Legal Apprenticeship Program, in partnership with Citizen Schools and Discovering Justice.
Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, Mr. Crawford spent six years working for The Gillette Company as a project manager focusing on business process integration, supply chain management, data warehousing, customer relationship management and electronic commerce. He has been recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer “Rising Star” by Law & Politics and Boston magazine.

Mark Macenka, Partner, Goodwin Procter
Mark Macenka, a partner in Goodwin Procter’s Corporate and Technology Companies Groups, has over 28 years experience in the areas of business and securities law, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and corporate finance. He joined the firm in 2005, after a 21-year career with Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP. Mr. Macenka represents public and private growth oriented companies in emerging and high technology industries, as well as venture capital firms and investment banks. His experience includes business counseling, domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, public and private financing, domestic and international software, Internet, telecommunications and technology licensing and distribution, and strategic partnerships and joint ventures. Mr. Macenka’s practice has included cross border financings and acquisitions, as well as advice on other U.S.-based activities for companies headquartered or with significant operations in Australia, Canada, France, Ireland, Israel, Lebanon and Russia.
Mr. Macenka also serves as co-chair of Goodwin Procter’s Pro Bono Committee
