Massachusetts’ economy is the fourth-best in the country, according to a new report from personal finance website WalletHub.
Using data from 2013 until 2016, WalletHub’s analysts compared all 50 states and the District of Columbia across three key metrics that include economic activity, economic health and innovation potential.
Massachusetts was No. 1 in terms of having the most percentage of fast-growing firms and the percentage of jobs in the high-tech industries, according to WalletHub. The state was No. 19 on the list of state’s with the lowest unemployment rate (4.4 percent). The state ranked 15th in the nation in terms of GDP growth (2.3 percent).
The state with the best economy, according to the report: Utah. At the bottom of the list? Mississippi.
