Boston-based venture capital firm Battery Ventures has announced three new promotions.
Principals Alex Benik and Brian Lieber are now partners at the firm, and Morad Elhafed, formerly vice president for the venture firm, is now a principal.
Benik joined Battery Ventures in 2001 and was based in Silicon Valley until 2006, when he moved to the firm’s Boston office. He has been involved with investments including Anobit Technologies (acquired by Apple) and ZeroG Wireless (acquired by Microchip), according to his LinkedIn page.
Lieber joined Battery Ventures in 2004 and has been involved with investments including Angie’s List (Nasdaq: ANGI), DNA Games (acquired by Zynga) and SafetyWeb (acquired by Experian).
Elhafed has been involved with portfolio companies in the U.S. and Europe including Vero, Mendix and SingleHop. He focuses on software and services investments and joined the venture firm in 2008.
Battery Ventures has raised $4.5 billion since its inception about 30 years ago and is investing out of a $900 million pool of capital.
Correction: This story previously mentioned that Battery Ventures’ headquarters were in Waltham. Battery Ventures moved its headquarters from Waltham to Boston earlier this year.
