Silicon Valley HR software startup GuideSpark will have 20 employees in Boston

Silicon Valley-based human resources software startup GuideSpark recently opened a Boston office last week and plans to have 20 employees at the office by the end of the year, up from 15 currently.

The 3,200 square-foot office is located at 211 Congress St. in Boston’s Financial District, and it opened Aug. 18.

GuideSpark was founded in 2008 and has raised $20 million in investor funding to date from investors including New Enterprise Associates and Storm Ventures.

Boston is the second office to open for GuideSpark, aside from its headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif.

“This is an important step toward providing the best possible service to our customers across the country,” said co-founder and CEO Keith Kitani in a statement. “Boston was an obvious place for an office, given the breadth of companies in the area, across high tech, financial services, education, health care, printing, publishing, and more.”

GuideSpark has more than 300 customers across 30 industries. According to its website, the company “transforms employee communications from traditional methods such as emails, brochures, and seminars to an engaging video experience designed for today’s busy employees. We simplify important HR topics like benefits, health care reform, and compensation programs and make them accessible anywhere and anytime.”
